Responsibilities
The contractor shall perform a full range of professional Pharmacy concepts and practices on site, using Government furnished facilities, equipment and supplies to a variety of patients. All aspects of Pharmacy services shall be commensurate with the capabilities of the provider and the Pharmacy department including but not limited to the items listed below and Malpractice insurance. • Checking the accuracy and correctness of the prescription. • Filling prescriptions. • Giving the patients information relative to medications use. • Double-checking Pharmacy Technician(s) work for correctness. • Maintain Pharmacy logs and or records. • Maintain inventory levels. • Order Supplies. • Restock Pharmacy supplies. • Receiving the prescriptions. • Communicating with the patients, units and or prescribers. • Dispensing medications. • Inventory medicine and drug stocks to ensure adequate supplies and controls. • Provide immediately evaluation and management of emerging problems as they occur. • Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations.
Qualifications
The provider of Pharmacy services shall possess and maintain for the duration of this agreement: • A diploma from an accredited school of Pharmacy. • A current unrestricted license for the practice Pharmacy in one of the 50 states. • Current Malpractice insurance in the amount of no less than $1 million dollars per occurrence. • A current CPR certification by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. • A minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience in providing like services in the Coast Guard or Military, Federal or comparable civilian Pharmacy services of the same or similar scope and/or size. • "No adverse information on file" with the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB)
